Tell Us How ‘Seinfeld’ Should End

When NBC broadcasts the final “Seinfeld” episode on May 14, millions of television fans will be at a loss as how to spend their Thursday nights.

After nine years, the “Seinfeld” cast of Jerry (Jerry Seinfeld), Elaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus), George (Jason Alexander) and Kramer (Michael Richards) have become almost like family, we know them so well.

OK, so some of us have bizarre families.

Still, the fact is that while most “Seinfeld” fans are eager to see just what antics series co-creator Larry David (who is writing the May 14 episode) will put the cast through on its final night of first-run television, many of us already have our own ideas of what should happen.

Maybe Jerry will leave New York for good, choosing instead to do his act exclusively for Florida retirement communities. Maybe Elaine will follow, where by opening a J. Peterman-like business for Cuban exiles her urban sombrero finally will be a hit.

Maybe George will go to work for the Florida Marlins. Maybe Kramer will … well, continue to be Kramer. Maybe you have your own ideas.

If so, we invite you to share them with us. Just send your thoughts on how you would write the final episode of “Seinfeld” to: Final Seinfeld, Features Department, The Spokesman-Review, P.O. Box 2160, Spokane, WA 99210. Or e-mail them to chrisw@spokesman.com. Please keep your script short. The deadline is April 6.

We’ll sift through the responses and share the ones we like best.
