You Can Invite Tiger To Breakfast

Associated Press

Tiger Woods, a golfer whose image is on billboards and magazine covers, now will grace Americans’ breakfast tables.

Monday, Woods became the eighth designated spokesman in the nearly 75-year history of Wheaties - the breakfast cereal pitched as the “breakfast of champions.”

Wheaties will carry three cereal box covers showing Woods swinging an iron, holding his putter in the air and carrying a trophy.

While dozens of athletes and sports teams have appeared on the front of the cereal box, a spokesman’s role also includes commercials and public appearances.

Other American athletes who’ve been Wheaties’ spokesmen include baseball’s Pete Rose; tennis’ Chris Evert Lloyd; basketball’s Michael Jordan; and ex-Olympian Bob Richards.
