Police Say Trooper’s Cash Is Prostitute’s

A Washington State Patrol trooper is under investigation by King County vice detectives for allegedly laundering money earned by his girlfriend through prostitution.

The 28-year-old trooper was placed on paid administrative leave last month after detectives served search warrants on his house, vehicles and the patrol car issued to him.

Detectives say in court documents that they recovered several hundred dollars in the console of the trooper’s patrol car. The money came from earnings from the trooper’s 21-year-old girlfriend, who worked as a $160-an-hour prostitute, detectives allege.

An affidavit filed by King County detective Marlon Hoyle also indicates that it was “common knowledge” at the state patrol detachment in Bellevue that the trooper lived with a suspected prostitute.

Patrol spokesman Capt. Marsh Pugh declined to comment Monday on those allegations.

“I don’t have any knowledge in regards to those investigative leads,” Pugh said.
