Festival In Need Of Volunteers

The Hillyard Festival Association is already looking for volunteers to staff this year’s party in August.

Every year, the Hillyard community has a parade on Market Street and a festival in Sharpley-Harmon Park.

Eight or more volunteers are needed to oversee the parade, publish the Festival Gazette newspaper and help with the festival in the park.

“Without adequate staffing the festival will not take place this year,” said Bill Crippen, a festival association organizer.

Activities at Sharpley-Harmon Park are scheduled to take place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday on the first or second week of August. The parade is scheduled to start at 11 a.m. on Saturday.

Also, the Greater Hillyard Business Association is looking for volunteers to help staff a golf tournament on the Friday of the festival.
