Woman Assaulted; Purse Stolen

By The Spokesman-Review

A purse snatcher pushed a 71-year-old Valley woman to the ground and took her purse outside the McDonald’s restaurant at 10615 E. Sprague.

The woman, who speaks only French, may have suffered a knee injury in the Sunday afternoon theft, sheriff’s deputies said.

She told police through an interpreter that a white man, 20 to 25 years old, pushed her down as she walked though an alley near McDonald’s at about 3:30 p.m.

The suspect had reddish blond hair, a long, clean-shaven face and broad shoulders, sheriff’s deputies said.

No arrests have been made.

The woman’s purse, minus all the money, was later found in the 1300 block of North Vercler, deputies said.
