Partying Student Hurt In 3-Story Fall

A college student on spring break was in critical condition Sunday after plunging from a third-story hotel balcony, crashing through a Plexiglas roof and landing in a swimming pool.

Danielle Augustus, 22, was taken to Halifax Medical Center after the fall Saturday.

Police believe the fall was an accident. It happened just five minutes after the student at Kent State University in Ohio had checked in at the Desert Inn Resort Motel and Health Club.

A Dallas high school student at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge remained in stable condition in Orlando over the weekend after a seven-story fall Thursday. A 31-year-old man was in satisfactory condition after falling from the fifth-floor balcony at a Daytona Beach hotel. And a college student on spring break in Panama City Beach was badly injured after falling eight stories from a beachfront hotel last week.
