Workshops To Focus On Flood Damage Plan
Three public workshops are scheduled this week for Kootenai County citizens to help county disaster workers develop a flood damage reduction plan.
The county has received a $15,000 grant from the Idaho Bureau of Disaster Services to develop a plan that would reduce the effects of flooding and improve the county’s flood insurance rating.
Workshops are scheduled from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Rathdrum Fire Station, Wednesday in Building 1 of the Kootenai County Fairgrounds and Thursday at the Rose Lake Historical Society.
People also can drop in from 4 to 6 p.m. each day at those locations to give their comments if they don’t have time for the workshop.
The county disaster service planning team also will have a booth set up from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. March 28 in the Silver Lake Mall for citizens to make suggestions on the plan. , DataTimes
