Jones To Settle Dispute

Roy Jones Jr., who plans to seek a heavyweight title, will first settle the dispute on who is king of the light heavyweights.

Jones (35-1, 30 knockouts), a former IBF middleweight and super middleweight champion, will take on former WBA and IBF light-heavyweight champion Virgil Hill in Biloxi, Miss., on April 25.

“Virgil was the light heavyweight king,” Jones said Wednesday. “I am the king right now. If Virgil wants to reclaim his light heavyweight throne, he has to beat me on April 25.”

It will merely be a bragging-rights match, though, as there is no title at stake in the scheduled 12-rounder.

The older brother of heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield could face life in prison after being convicted on charges of rape and child molestation.

James Holyfield, 45, will be sentenced in Atlanta’s Fulton County Superior Court on April 17.

The conviction isn’t the first for James Holyfield. He was convicted of statutory rape and incest for a 1995 incident involving a victim under age 16.
