No Charges To Be Filed In School Strip Search

No charges will be filed against the adults who ordered 34 middle-school girls strip searched in a hunt for stolen cash, CDs, makeup and jewelry.

District Attorney Brad Berry said Friday he found no evidence of criminal intent in the Jan. 29 search at Duniway Middle School.

Many relatives of the 12- to 14-year-old girls, who were ordered to take off their shoes and socks, shake out their bras, and pull down their pants and underwear during the search, have filed a notice to sue the school district and the city, alleging that the search violated the girls’ civil rights.
