Press Club Recognizes Staff

Idaho Spokesman-Review writers and photographers captured 30 Idaho Press Club awards Saturday, including best Watchdog/Investiga tive report for Betsy Z. Russell’s series on thorny issues facing Idaho’s prison system, titled “The Price of Punishment.”

Also winning first-place awards were writers Julie Titone for feature stories, Greg Lee for sports coverage, Kevin Keating on politics, Winda Benedetti for crime reporting and Andrea Vogt for education writing. In the category for agriculture, stories by Russell and Craig Welch tied for first place.

Photographer Craig Buck won first place awards for spot news coverage, swept all three awards for feature photos and placed third in the photo essay category.
