‘Titanic’ Soundtrack Still Unsinkable

Debuts from rockers Van Halen and rappers Ice Cube and C-Murder could not sink the soundtrack to “Titanic,” which stayed the course at No. 1 for the 11th consecutive week.

The soundtrack sold another 455,000 copies for the week ending March 22 to easily hold the top spot.

Rapper C-Murder’s release “Life or Death” sold an impressive 197,000 copies to debut at No. 3, while Van Halen debuted at No. 4 with 191,000.

Ice Cube’s “The Player’s Club” bowed at No. 10 on sales of 85,000 copies.

Celine Dion’s “Let’s Talk About Love” climbed back to the No. 2 slot, selling 200,000 more copies last week, up from the previous week’s 199,000. Also in its 18th week of release, “Let’s Talk About Love” has never fallen below No. 3.

Dropping down to No. 5, Madonna’s electronic album “Ray of Light” moved 168,000 copies in its third week. The album sold 225,000 the previous week to finish second.
