Photo’s content not altered

The photo from Iraq on page A4 of Thursday’s paper caused concern for some readers, who believed the content had been altered. That was not the case. The pixelization that occurred around the heads of the subjects, which made the photo look as if it were a composite, was caused by a combination of the lighting in the photo and the production process used to prepare the photo for printing.

Grill had bar before remodeling

The Garden Grill restaurant’s back bar predates the building’s recent remodeling and ownership change. Because of a reporter’s error, the origin of the bar was incorrectly stated in a restaurant review in last Friday’s 7.

Adults counted in bicycle crash data

Five people, including four adults, died in Spokane County in the past five years after being involved in bicycle crashes without helmets. Due to a reporter’s error, the statistic appearing in Thursday’s paper incorrectly stated that it was five children.
