Peer-to-peer, a means of optimizing the networking capabilities of the Internet among groups of computers. Effectively it puts every computer on an equal footing. In a peer-to-peer environment, the content on one computer is accessible to everyone else and vice-versa. Also, computers with spare processing capacity can network together in order to combine resources.
