Fairfield plans old-fashioned yule

The Spokesman-Review

The small town of Fairfield is once again opening its arms to the community as the residents put on their annual Old Fashioned Christmas celebration.

The festivities begin at 8 a.m. Saturday and go until 4 p.m. A craft show will run all day in the Grange Hall with 40 crafters and vendors. Several musical groups will perform there, including the Liberty School Choir and the Fairfield Lutheran/Presbyterian Choir. Soup and pie will be sold in the Grange Hall basement from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Several activities are planned at the Bank of Fairfield. Santa will set up shop to hear wishes whispered in his ear and will be available for photos from 10 a.m. to noon. The bank will also host face painting and a toy drawing.

Christmas trees, nuts and pies will be sold from 9 a.m. to noon on Main Street. The town’s museum will have an open house and bake sale from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Some businesses in the town will have specials. The Grange Hall, bank and museum are all located on Main Street off Highway 27.
