Lancers return to Bi-County with buzzer-beating victory

Liberty scored at the buzzer Friday to earn its first Bi-County League girls basketball win since dropping down from the Northeast A League, 55-53 at Northwest Christian.

Shawn Hennessey scored 22 points to lead the Lancers.

Krystal Pitkonen had 14 points to lead the Crusaders. Jessica McFaul scored two of her 11 points form the free-throw line with 10 seconds left to tie the game at 53.

Reardan 44, Odessa 38: The Indians received 16 points from Noelle Carstens and 12 more from Chelsea Wagner for the win at home. Lauren Fink had 11 points and Jessica Jasman 10 to lead the Tigers. … Sprague-Harrington 71, Valley Christian 42: The Falcons flew in Spokane behind the 24 points of Abby Hatten. Stacie Shields added another 13 while the host Panthers committed 35 turnovers. … Wilbur-Creston 53, Davenport 47: The Wildcats took control of the game in the second half at Davenport. Maddisen Peterson scored 17 points and led three scorers in double figures for Wilbur-Creston. Kesyle Llewellyn had 14 and Zenda Reidt 11 for the Wildcats. Kaylee Semprimoznik led the Gorillas with 19 points.

Curlew threw down 11 3-pointers and earned a 72-57 Panorama League win at Wellpinit. April Barkley tossed in 17 points and Brittany Strandberg for the winning Cougars. Curlew’s Amanda Brumback and Kady Kirkendall each added 14 points. Samantha Flett had 15 points and 10 rebounds for the Redskins. … Inchelium 82, Columbia 20: The Hornets swarmed all over the host Lions at Hunters, taking an 18-2 lead after one quarter and never looking back. … Cusick 69, Springdale 37: Cara Shepherd pulled down 11 rebounds and scored 14 points by shooting 7 of 11 from the floor to lead the Panthers past the host Chargers. Kimberly Bluff had a game-high 19 points on 7-of-10 shooting for Cusick. … Republic 63, Northport 12: The Tigers led 24-0 after the first quarter and strolled past the visiting Mustangs. Dani Gubler led the Tigers with 11 points. The Tigers’ Melissa Whitney converted 9 of 10 free throws.
