NEW FACES

Mary Ann Henderson has been hired as the educational coordinator at Shriners Hospitals for Children-Spokane. She was previously director of the Women’s Health Center and was the educational services director at Holy Family Hospital and holds degrees from Eastern Washington University and Gonzaga University.

WhiteRunkle has hired Shawn Bendinelli as senior art director. Bendinelli holds degrees in graphic design and education from Penn State University and was previously an art director at Merck Pharmaceuticals.

Mark Keene has been hired at the Coeur d’Alene office of Windermere Real Estate as a sales associate. Keene previously worked as an investment representative at Edward Jones in Post Falls.

The Sagle, Idaho office of Windermere Real Estate has hired Judy Lacy as an associate broker. She was previously an associate broker with Tomlinson Black Real Estate in Sandpoint.

Cindy Algeo has been hired as executive director of the Spokane Low Income Housing Consortium. She holds degrees in public administration and urban and regional planning. Algeo was previously a manager at the Spokane Housing Authority’s Assisted Housing Department.

Schweitzer Mountain Resort has hired Peter Wynia as lodging operations director. Wynia was previously employed at the Davenport Hotel and has over 10 years of experience in hotel and revenue management.

Shelley Pedersen has been hired at the Spokane Valley office of Windermere Real Estate as a sales associate. She has owned Old European Restaurant in Spokane since 1993.

The Spokane-Palouse office of Windermere Real Estate has hired Dick McConnell as a sales associate. McConnell was previously the president and chief executive officer of SNG Telecom.

Jennifer Imel has been hired at Edward Jones as a branch office administrator trainee. Imel was previously an administrative assistant at Mortgage Plus.

Global Credit Union has hired Shellie Parsons as a member business representative at the bank’s Moscow branch. Parsons was previously a sales associate at Anderson Merchandisers in Moscow.

NEW BUSINESS

L’Arcadie Restaurant has opened on Schweitzer Mountain in the former St. Bernard Keg building. The restaurant features French provincial food, beef and vegetable pies and a Christmas menu. The restaurant is located at 230 Northwest Passage, Sandpoint, and can be reached at (208) 263-8680.

KUDOS

Janice Baldwin of the Coeur d’Alene Merrill Lynch office has recently completed the Merrill Lynch Financial Advisors Leadership program at the Wharton School of Business. Baldwin is the vice president and manager of the office.

Washington Law and Politics Magazine has named Kevin Roberts a Rising Star Super Lawyer. Roberts is a litigation attorney at Dunn & Black.

Karen Mahnken has received a Collaborative Member Excellence Award from SL Start, Projects with Industry. Mahnken received the award for her collaborations on the Business Advisory Council. She is a claims manager for Educational Service District 101.

SL Start, Projects with Industry has awarded Dan Robbins the Esteemed Advocate Longevity Award for his advocacy in hiring the disabled. Robbins is a food and beverage manager at Northern Quest Casino.

Julie Prafke, president of Humanix Corp., has received the Distinguished Organization Longevity Award from SL Start, Projects with Industry. Prafke and the company received this award for dedication and partnership in applying staffing concepts for the disabled.

SL Start, Projects with Industry, has awarded Employment Screening Services Inc. the Specialized Support Award for the company’s partnership and contribution in helping those with disabilities get ready for the work force by donating computers.

Center Partners has received the Progressive Hiring Excellence Award for hiring those with disabilities and for helping those employees retain their positions.

The Eastern Washington general office of New York Life Insurance Co. has named Virgil Smith as a Rookie Agent of the Month for November. He is a graduate of the University of Idaho and has been an agent with the company since February.

PROMOTED

Chad Roland of D.A. Davidson & Co. in Spokane has been promoted to vice president, financial consultant. Roland has been with the company since 1997 and holds a degree in business management and finance from Brigham Young University.

WhiteRunkle Advertising has promoted Leslie Sanborn to vice president of account services. Sanborn has been with the company for seven years and has managed many national campaigns.

Shelly Nolan of Kiemle & Hagood Co. has been promoted to property accountant. Nolan previously worked as a brokerage assistant and has been with the company since August.

APPOINTED

Dean Bennett, the North Idaho College Student Activities director, has been appointed to the Association of College Unions International Region 14 Leadership Team. Bennett will serve as the Web coordinator.

MOVED

The Spokane-Palouse office of Windermere Real Estate has moved to 5915 S. Regal Rd., Suite 101.

GIFTS

Northern Quest Casino and the Kalispel Tribe of Indians in conjunction with Operation Spokane Heroes and the Fairchild Family Support Center have presented 100 holiday food baskets to Bill Phipps of Operation Spokane Heroes and Colonel Anthony Hinen of the 92 Air Refueling Wing to be distributed to those in need at Fairchild and other branches of service.
