Kings beat Pacers in overtime

Chris Webber totaled 26 points, 10 rebounds and six assists, and Mike Bibby added 21 points to help Sacramento hold off Indiana 97-92 in overtime Saturday night at Indianapolis.

The Kings, who have won six of their last seven games, had their streak of 100-point games end at four.

Sacramento’s Brad Miller, an All-Star with Indiana, sealed the win with four free throws in the final 9 seconds of overtime.

Austin Croshere led the Pacers with 21 points – 13 in the fourth quarter and overtime. Jeff Foster added 11 points and 18 rebounds, a season high for any Indiana player this season.

Bulls 99, Timberwolves 88: At Chicago, rookie Ben Gordon scored a career-high 31 points, 16 in the fourth quarter, to help Chicago hold off a furious Minnesota rally for the win.

Minnesota trailed by 24 in the second quarter and rallied to within one in the final period. The Timberwolves couldn’t get the lead because Gordon scored 10 straight points at one juncture, hitting a pair of 3-pointers.

The Bulls had lost 10 straight to Minnesota and not defeated the Timberwolves since the days of Michael Jordan on April 3, 1998. Kevin Garnett had 16 points and 21 rebounds for the Timberwolves.

Lakers 89, Clippers 87: At Los Angeles, Kobe Bryant scored 37 points and had 10 rebounds to lead the Los Angeles Lakers to a victory over the Los Angeles Clippers.

The game was close most of the way, with Bryant helping pull it out by scoring nine points in a late 4:39 span. The Clippers had a chance to tie it in the final seconds, but Corey Maggette’s running jumper went in and out of the basket.

Spurs 116, Cavaliers 97: At San Antonio, Tim Duncan scored 34 points, and San Antonio had its best shooting night of the season in its victory over Cleveland.

The Spurs shot 84 percent from the floor in the first half and finished the night at 66 percent. Cleveland’s Drew Gooden scored 28 points, his best outing this season, and LeBron James added 23 points and 10 assists.

Mavericks 102, Rockets 78: At Houston, Michael Finley scored a season-high 26 points as Dallas beat Houston, handing the Rockets their biggest loss of the season.

Finley conquered the Rockets, hitting four straight 3-pointers in a 23-8 run in the third quarter.

Nets 95, Hawks 90: At Atlanta, Richard Jefferson scored 19 of his 21 points in the second half, and Travis Best, starting in place of Jason Kidd, had a season-high 21 to lead New Jersey to a victory over Atlanta.

Antoine Walker led the Hawks with 25 points and 13 rebounds. Atlanta committed 20 turnovers, leading to 28 points for New Jersey.

Grizzlies 72, Pistons 68: At Memphis, Tenn., Pau Gasol scored 20 points and Shane Battier hit four free throws in the final 20 seconds to lead Memphis to a win over Detroit.

Battier broke a 68-all tie with two free throws with 19.4 seconds remaining. He added two more with 12 seconds left to complete the scoring.
