Itronix Corp. will move to Mirabeau

 (The Spokesman-Review)

Itronix Corp., which is growing at a 20 percent clip this year, announced plans to move into a new operations center at Mirabeau Point in Spokane Valley.

The Spokane-based maker of wireless computers known for durability in the field will consolidate its downtown Spokane and Liberty Lake offices into a new 100,000-square-foot building.

Itronix CEO Tom Turner said the company plans to be relocated within a year.

“We’re excited about this move,” he said, adding that all of the company’s 450 regional employees will again be under one roof.

Itronix will lease the new building to be erected within the Pinecroft Business Park, an eight-building campus along Mirabeau Parkway off North Pines Avenue.

John Miller, president of Pinecroft LLC, said the Itronix project is a $10.5 million deal on 11.5 acres of land. His construction company, DIVCON Inc., will build the new office and manufacturing site to meet Itronix’s specifications. The agreement includes another five acres that Itronix can count on for expansion.

Miller said the park has redundant power supplies and redundant fiber connections that help ensure tenants can conduct business uninterrupted.

Among the considerations for Itronix was parking, an issue easily addressed within the new business park.

There are 94 acres suitable for development, said Jamie Miller, the park’s leasing agent with JMA Commercial Real Estate.

Among the tenants in Pinecroft: Boeing Employees’ Credit Union, Vivato Inc. and CitiFinancial.

Linesoft was an original tenant until it was sold to Itron, which kept some office space there. Itronix began as a spinoff of Spokane-based Itron.

Itronix has been growing and last year was sold to Golden Gate Capital. The investment firm owns 82 percent of the computer maker. The remaining 18 percent stake is owned by management.

Last year Itronix reported revenues of $127 million. This year the company expects sales to reach about $150 million, Turner said.

The company also employs about 100 workers in Europe and conducts sales in Great Britain, France and Germany.

Itronix currently leases about 88,000 square feet of office and manufacturing space near downtown Spokane and in Liberty Lake.
