CCS ekes past North Seattle

Angie Clift finished with 14 points and teammate Abby Shephard added 12 points as Community Colleges of Spokane women’s basketball team edged past North Seattle 54-52 Friday night at the Gray’s Harbor Crossover Tournament in Hoquiam, Wash.

The Sasquatch (5-5) took a five-point lead when Jacki Albi sank a pair of free throws with less than a minute to play. The Storm (4-4) closed the gap to two points with a 3-point bucket from Damellia Russell, who led all players with 20 points and seven rebounds.

Men’s basketball

Jason Stromvall was 15 for 22 from the field and led all players with 33 points as Tacoma (2-5) defeated CCS 78-65 at the Green River Crossover Tournament in Auburn, Wash.

Erik Bell and Kyle Janke finished with 12 points and six rebounds apiece for the Sasquatch (4-3).
