Lakeside wins battle of unbeatens in taking tourney championship

Tiffany Corigliano and Nicole Cantu scored 13 and 11 points, respectively, and grabbed seven rebounds apiece to lead the Lakeside Eagles (6-0) to the championship of their own Christmas tournament at Nine Mile Falls, a 44-35 win over Cusick on Saturday.

Misty Ostlie and Jael Johnston each scored 10 points to lead the Panthers (6-1).

Newport 61, Kettle Falls 55: The Grizzlies (4-2) got a two-fer in the championship game of the Newport Christmas Tourney – a win over Kettle Falls (4-4) and a preview of an up-coming Northeast A League showdown. Newport was led by Maria Barranco’s 22 points. Tasia Tracy and Liz Beardslee scored 13 and 12 points, respectively, to lead Kettle Falls. … Clarkston 69, Lewiston 58: The Clarkston Bantams (4-2) used an 8-0 run at the end of the third quarter to spark their win over Lewiston (5-6) at Clarkston. Patsy Dodgen-Auer led Clarkston with 22 points, with Kathryn DeVleming adding 15 more. Ashley Zenner drilled four 3-pointers to lead the Bengals with 17 points. … Colfax 61, Mt. Spokane Junior Varsity 26: The defending State 1A champions rolled in the third-place game of the Lakeside Holiday Tournament at Nine Mile Falls. Megan Teade scored 12 points and Kylie Shaw added 11 points for the Bulldogs (4-2). Teammate Lauren Mellor chipped in with 10 points and nine rebounds.

The St. George’s guard scored 13 points and dished off a career-high nine assists to lead the Dragons (4-3, 3-1) to a 56-50 Panorama League victory over visiting Selkirk (2-6, 2-2) at St. George’s. Kristin Fix led all scorers with 20 points for the Dragons, who built a five-point lead at halftime. Chelsi Shaw led the Rangers with 17 points.

Inchelium 64, Wellpinit 47: The Hornets held home court behind the 20 points of Chelsi Pakootas. Melissa Dick added 10 points and nine rebounds for Inchelium (5-2, 3-1). Samantha Flett and Lainie Arnoux had 18 and 15 points, respectively, for Wellpinit (4-2, 3-2). … Curlew 97, Northport 39: The Cougars (9-0, 5-0) had five players score in double figures at Northport (1-7, 0-4). Amanda Grumbach led all scorers with 23 points, with Nicole Miller adding another 20. … Republic 55, Columbia 11: The Tigers (3-4, 2-3) topped the Lions (1-4, 1-4), led by Karissa Lehn’s 16 points. Randi Beck added another 14. … Springdale 66, St. Michael’s 23: The Chargers (2-6, 1-3) sprinted to a 38-15 lead at intermission and never looked back at St. Michael’s (0-4, 0-3).

Fink’s 26 earns Odessa win

Lauren Fink scored 26 of her team’s 48 total points to lead Odessa (1-4, 1-4) to a 48-46 Bi-County League victory in overtime over Northwest Christian (0-4, 0-4) at Colbert. The Tigers tied the game at 42 in the final minute to force overtime. Jessica McFaul and Marinda Malott each scored 14 points to lead Northwest Christian. … Liberty 55, Wilbur-Creston 43: Jessica Hahner pumped in 16 points and grabbed seven rebounds and Shawn Hennessey tossed in a dozen points and passed for four assists to lead the Lancers (4-0, 4-0) to the homecourt win. Shannon Davis added 11 points and a dozen rebounds. Maddisen Peterson and Kaitlyn Reidt scored 12 and 11 points, respectively, to lead Wilbur-Creston (2-4, 2-2). … Almira/Coulee-Hartline 47, Valley Christian 24: The Warriors (4-0, 3-0) went on a 13-2 run through the third quarter to take control of the game in Spokane, forcing 30 Valley Christian (2-5, 1-4) turnovers. St. John-Endicott (6-2, 2-0) shot 52 percent from the field to take a 72-43 win over visiting LaCrosse-Washtucna (2-3, 0-2). Jessie Mansell and Ellen Miller scored 18 and 17 points, respectively, to lead the Eagles. Jennifer Ayers-Stamper and Karla Koller each scored 13 points to lead the Tigercats. … Tekoa-Oakesdale 62, Colton 49: The Nighthawks (3-2, 2-0) had three players score in double figures, led by the 20 points of Mallory Puckett.
