David Doubley scored a game-high 18 points and Pacific began defense of its Big West Conference championship with a victory over UC Riverside. Pacific won its 14th consecutive Big West regular-season game and prevailed in its Big West opener for the seventh consecutive year. Christian Maraker had 11 points and 10 rebounds and reserve Guillaume Yango had 10 points and 11 rebounds for the Tigers, who held a 44-27 rebounding advantage. … Yaphett King’s turnaround jumper in the lane with 8.6 seconds left in overtime lifted Cal State Fullerton to a win over Cal State Northridge. … Casey Cook had 15 points and nine rebounds to lead host UC Santa Barbara over Long Beach State. … Ross Schraeder scored 20 points including six 3-pointers to help UC Irvine to a victory over Cal Poly at San Luis Obispo.
