Bird, plant fair - The annual Backyard Bird and Plant Fair will be held Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m.- p.m. at Firwood Nursery. Co-sponsored by the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife and Spokane County Master Gardeners, there will be tours and information on naturalized landscapes, along with vendors and volunteer groups to discuss gardening and wildlife. Spokane Orchid Society - Monthly meetings are held the second Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m. at the Manito meeting room. The next meeting will be this Wednesday. The program will feature pictures of the Santa Barbara Orchid Show presented by Sharon Chatterton.

Sundays in the Garden series - The next event, entitled “Tour and History of the Nishinomiya Japanese Garden,” will be June 13 at 2 p.m. in Manito Park’s Manito Meeting Room, east of Gaiser Conservatory. Free admission. (456-8038)
