Hubfest 2004 – Starting July 12, incoming sixth- and seventh-graders are invited to attend a week’s worth of activities and fun sponsored by Spokane Public Schools The Hubs program at sessions held these Spokane middle schools: Chase, Garry, Glover, Sacajawea and Salk. The day camps begin at 9:30 a.m. and last until 2:30 p.m. and open gym activities are available in the mornings. Bus transportation and reduced tuition rates are available. Anger Management Class – For ages 12-17. Class also will focus on self-esteem and conflict resolution. Contact Patrick Donahue, 979-7076, for more information.

Creativity Clubhouse – This summer outreach program is presented by the Children’s Museum and KSPS Public Television. Children ages 8 to 10 can participate in gardening projects, international crafts, ZOOM science projects and make Lego skyscrapers. There are also projects available for children of all ages. Jump Rope Academy – Instruction includes single rope and double Dutch; ages 2-adult. Monday-Saturday. Free introduction class. Birthday and group workshops; $8 per person. Libby Teen Center – Open for basketball, volleyball and table games Tuesdays through Saturdays from 4:30-9 p.m. Free. Also scheduling outdoor activities, field trips and aerobics classes at the center, 2900 E. First Ave. For more information, or to volunteer, call 536-8152.

Paws for Reading – Practice reading aloud to Kaile the reading dog, Mondays through February, 4:30 p.m. at the East Side Library, 524 S. Stone. Call 444-5377 for more information.

X-Brain Yo-Yo – Learn amazing tricks at yo-yo classes at Colors on the Wind, 118 E. Wellesley Ave. Classes are Saturdays from 10 a.m.-noon. Registration and classes are free. For more information, call Becky at 484-5483.

Young Mom’s Life Skills/Support Group – Teen Parent Network provides a weekly young mom’s group for moms between the ages of 13-24 for encouragement, understanding and acceptance.
