Widened 16th Avenue to open soon

The Spokesman-Review

A Spokane Valley road construction project is nearing completion.

Sixteenth Avenue will likely open the week of Thanksgiving, said Spokane Valley senior engineer Steve Worley. The road has been widened to two lanes with a center turn lane between Dishman-Mica Road and state Highway 27.

Road crews will also re-open South Park Road near Appleway Boulevard around Thanksgiving. There is still additional paving work that will be done on Park Road next spring, Worley said.

Park Road is being widened to three lanes with sidewalks between Second and Eighth avenues as part of a $1 million project. Spokane Valley’s share for the work will be approximately $150,000.
