‘Miz’ ticket sales to benefit CCS program

Catch the opening night of “Les Miserables,” and benefit the Community Colleges of Spokane Foundation’s Center for Child Care and Family Learning Project.

Tickets are available for $100 through the CCS Foundation office, and will include Tuesday night’s performance at the Spokane Opera House with a special reception held beforehand in the Okanogan Room. Wine and appetizers will be served.

The reception begins at 5:30 p.m. and the show starts at 7:30.

The CCS Foundation’s Center for Child Care and Family Learning Project is a collaborative effort with Washington State University and Eastern Washington University to develop high-quality affordable child care for students.

Food Drive

Fairwinds Northpointe Retirement Community will host a food drive for the Second Harvest Food Bank on Wednesday.

Nonperishable food items and monetary donations will be accepted from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the retirement community, 520 W. Holland Ave.

For every four cans of food or $2 donated, participants will be entered into a raffle to win a variety of prizes.

Prizes include a gift certificate to the Davenport Hotel, a basket of goodies from Spokandy, two tickets to a Spokane Chiefs game, a wine package from the Lone Canary Winery, a cookie bouquet from Cookies by Design, and more.

Hot drinks and cookies will be served.

Benefit Luncheon

Mary Robinson, President of Ireland from 1990 to 1997, will be the guest speaker at the YWCA Benefit Luncheon at the Spokane Convention Center.

The luncheon will be held Tuesday beginning at noon. A donation of $100 is requested. For more information, call 326-1190, ext. 127.
