2004 Youth Tobacco Prevention Summit – Sponsored by the Spokane Teens Against Tobacco and the Spokane Regional Health District, this overnight summit will focus on anti-tobacco efforts among local and national youths. The event will include sports, dancing and movies. Anyone who spends the night must have an overnight chaperone. For kids in grades nine through 12; Saturday and Sunday at Sacajawea Middle School, 401 E. 33rd Ave. For more information or to register, call 324-1504.

Super Heroes Party – Children ages 4-7 are invited to dress as their favorite superhero and help Spiderman and Wonder Woman free Batman from Catwoman; Saturday from noon-2 p.m. at the Northeast Youth Center, 4001 N. Anger Management Class – For ages 12-17. Class also will focus on self-esteem and conflict resolution. Contact Patrick Donahue, 979-7076, for more information.

Before- and After-school Programs – Educational and fun programs are available at the Northeast Youth Center, 4001 N. Cook. Transportation to and from some local elementary schools is available, and state pay is accepted. Includes a USDA approved snack. Camp Fire USA – Clubs forming for children between the ages of 3-grade 12. Call the Camp Fire USA Service Center for more information, 747-6191.

Jump Rope Academy – Instruction includes single rope and double Dutch; ages 2-adult. Monday-Saturday. Free introduction class. Birthday and group workshops; $8 per person. Young Mom’s Life Skills/Support Group – Teen Parent Network provides a weekly young mom’s group for moms between the ages of 13-24 for encouragement, understanding, and acceptance.
