The Spokesman-Review

A $900 vinyl banner for IMAX in Riverfront Park was reported stolen, the Spokane Police said last week.

The 10-by-15-foot sign advertised the movie “The Polar Express,” police spokesman Dick Cottam said in a press release. The sign was secured to the theater by wire, Cottam said. IMAX employees told police that the banner was stolen the evening of Nov. 13 or morning of Nov. 14. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Check at 456-2233.

Moose Lodge burglarized

A north Spokane fraternal organization was burglarized last week, the Spokane Police said. The Moose Lodge and Club Room, 6363 N. Lidgerwood St., was broken into about 3:30 a.m. Nov. 17, police spokesman Dick Cottam said in a press release. Two doors in the back of the building were forced open, and two offices were broken into. A safe was opened and money was taken. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Check at 456-2233.

Mail thefts reported

The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office has received three reports of mail theft in the Deer Park area in the past three weeks, the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office said.

The victims live in the 900 block of West Ballard Road and along North Cedar Road and East Laurel Road, Sheriff’s spokesman Cpl. Dave Reagan said in a press release. Reagan said that residents should collect their mail as soon as possible after it has been delivered and to mail payments and credit information only from blue postal boxes.

Anyone who sees suspicious activity near residential mailboxes should call Crime Check at 456-2233.
