Repair priorities

The Spokesman-Review

Sections of 35 arterial streets would be repaired over a period of 10 years under the city’s $117.3 million street improvement proposal. In addition, money would go for residential streets and for subsidizing paving of gravel streets in neighborhoods.

Here are the arterials proposed for repair:

•In 2006 and 2007, work would be done on Maple Street between Garland Avenue and the city limits; Bernard Street from 29th to Ninth avenues; Haven Street through Hillyard; Ash Street from Garland Avenue to Country Homes Boulevard; Freya Street from 37th to Fifth avenues; and Greene Street next to Spokane Community College.

•In 2008 and 2009, repairs would include Crestline Street from Illinois to Wellesley avenues; Maple Street from Broadway to Garland avenues; Southeast Boulevard from 29th Avenue to Perry Street; Francis Avenue from Division to Market streets; and Ash Street from Broadway to Garland avenues.

•In 2010 and 2011, the list includes Market Street from Garland to Francis avenues; Alberta Street from Northwest Boulevard to Francis Avenue; Wall Street from Wellesley to Francis avenues; Sherman Street from Third to Eighth avenues; Southeast Boulevard from Perry to Sherman streets; Cochran Street from Northwest Boulevard and Alberta Street; Washington Street from Indiana to Buckeye avenues; 37th Avenue from Perry to Regal streets; Hatch Road from 43rd to 57th avenues; and Second Avenue from Sunset Boulevard to Post Street.

•In 2012 and 2013, the schedule includes Euclid Avenue from Crestline to Market streets; Northwest Boulevard from Alberta to Maple streets; Wellesley Avenue from A to Division streets; 37th Avenue from Grand Boulevard to Perry Street; Post Street from Maxwell to Buckeye avenues; Second Avenue from Post to Arthur streets; Third Avenue from Division to Arthur streets; and Grand Boulevard from High Drive to 29th Avenue.

•In 2014 and 2015, the final group of arterials scheduled for repair include Nevada Street from North Foothills Drive to Francis Avenue; 29th Avenue from High Drive to Grand Boulevard; 29th Avenue from Perry to Freya streets; Mission Avenue from Napa to Greene streets; and High Drive from 29th Avenue to Grand Boulevard.
