Seattle high school student arrested over alleged ‘kill list’

Associated Press

SEATTLE – Police arrested a 16-year-old boy at a local high school after investigators alleged he posted a “kill list” of 15 students and staff on an Internet chatroom.

Tuesday’s arrest came after a parent sent Ingraham High School Principal Martin Floe an e-mail alerting him to the alleged threats, which were signed with an alias, Seattle Public Schools spokeswoman Patti Spencer said.

School officials connected the alias to the teen, a junior at Ingraham, then interviewed him and contacted police.

“It looks like it was some sort of kill list,” Seattle police spokesman Scott Moss told the Seattle Times. “Apparently he was having problems with the students and teachers, and he made a list of who he wanted to kill.”

The boy, whose name was not released, was expelled and booked into the King County Youth Service Center for investigation of harassment.

The school notified everyone who was on the list, although officials are unsure whether the threat was serious.
