Montvale Hotel offering rotating display of artwork
LOCAL ARTISTS ARE being sought to display their work in the historic, renovated Montvale Hotel in downtown Spokane. The 105-year-old structure at 1001 W. First Ave. is scheduled to reopen in November as a 36-room boutique hotel. Artwork will be displayed on a rotating basis in the grand lobby and two-story atrium.

Auditions
The ComedySportz improvisational comedy troupe will hold auditions on Oct. 30 from noon to 3 p.m. at 227 W. Riverside Ave.

Seeking artists
The Moscow Arts Commission is seeking local and regional artists to participate in its third annual Winter Solstice exhibit at the Third Street Gallery in Moscow City Hall from Dec. 10 through Jan. 28.
Visual interpretations of the winter season are encouraged. Work must be available for display by Dec. 6.
Interested artists should submit one slide or photograph of each entry. Up to two pieces will be considered for exhibition. An artist statement and bio suitable for display purposes and a stamped, self-addressed envelope must accompany each submission.

Classes and workshops
“ The Inland Northwest Dance Association is hosting a two-day dance workshop Saturday and next Sunday for dancers ages 9 and older (all levels) at Dance Emporium, 7410 N. Division St., from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day. Instructors from throughout the U.S. will participate, including members of Oregon’s Rainbow Dance Theatre, who perform Saturday night at The Met.
Also, a junior workshop for beginning level dancers age 7 and older will be Saturday from 1:15 to 6 p.m., and Darryl Thomas from Rainbow Dance Theatre will teach an African drumming class for experienced drummers next Sunday from 3 to 4:30 p.m.
