On Oct. 20, 1929, the Episcopal Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, 127 E. 12th Ave., officially opened its doors.

This weekend, the cathedral will conduct four different services to celebrate its 75 years of worship.

The first service takes place today at 5:30 p.m. in All Saints Chapel. The ceremony, Holy Eucharist Rite II, will include hymns and homily.

The second service, Holy Eucharist Rite I, will be at 8 a.m. Sunday in the cathedral, followed by the Family Holy Eucharist Rite II at 9 a.m.

The final service, at 11 a.m. Sunday, will celebrate with the choir.

All four services will have a rededication ceremony and will include portions of the original liturgy that was read 75 years ago.

After the 11 a.m. service coffee will be served.

Christian college fair

Whitworth Community Presbyterian Church, 312 W. Hawthorne Road, is hosting a Spokane Christian College Fair Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. for students and their families interested in a faith-based higher education.

Information about financial aid will be available, as well as representatives from more than 35 Christian colleges.

Oktoberfest

Good Hope Lutheran Church in Lind, Wash. is hosting an Oktoberfest party at the Lind Grange Hall, 120 W. Third St., Sunday at 11 a.m.

The menu will include German sausages, mashed potatoes, sauerkraut and dessert.

The cost is $7 for adults and $4 for children 12 and under. To-go orders will also be available.

Yoga

The Radha Yoga Center, 406 S. Coeur d’Alene St., Unit T, is hosting a series of spiritual workshops this week to assist healing of spirit and body.

Weekly classes in dream interpretation, the Divine Light invocation and Kundalini yoga will begin Monday and will continue through Dec. 4.

The cost is $8 a class or $42 for the entire series.

Bazaars

“ First Presbyterian Church, 318 S. Cedar St., is hosting an autumn luncheon with food bazaar and entertainment Tuesday.

The event, sponsored by the Whitworth Auxiliary, starts with a bazaar at 10:30 a.m. Lunch seating will begin at 11.

The youth store will feature handmade dolls for the second consecutive year, and there will be other handmade items for sale.
