Where talent is concerned, Paris pleads no contest

The Spokesman-Review

Paris Hilton, the hotel heiress famous for being … well, famous, has a new venture: a jewelry line of pink sparkles, stars and hearts. The Paris Hilton collection, which ranges in price from $15 to $95, is available exclusively at Amazon.com. It includes necklaces, earrings, a charm bracelet, a belly chain and a belly bar, all in sterling silver and pink crystal.

“I thought my fans would want to have part of me, something I designed,” says Hilton, 23.

“A young girl is able to afford it; it looks expensive, but it’s not.”

Eager fans can also buy a copy of her new memoir, “Confessions of an Heiress: A Tongue-in-Chic Peek Behind the Pose,” and the DVD of the first season of her reality TV show, “The Simple Life,” with her friend Nicole Richie.

Hilton bristles at the suggestion that she’s able to design jewelry and record an upcoming CD because of her socialite fame.

“I have a great line of jewelry and I have a great voice,” she says. “The product is there, so people can’t say anything.”

Theron injury puts ‘Aeon’ in flux

Details are a bit scarce, but Oscar-winning actress Charlize Theron was injured in Germany while doing stunts for her new film, “Aeon Flux,” based on the futuristic, animated MTV action show of the same name.

“No cuts, no broken bones,” a move publicist said. “I think it was something less tangible than that. … Something vague and nagging.”

Filming in Berlin has been halted for several weeks to allow Theron, 29, to recover. It wasn’t known if the injury would require script changes or when the movie would resume production.

Ancient, as in 40-year-old Scotch

The hard-partying Colin Farrell almost faced the wrath of filmmaker Oliver Stone after breaking his ankle and his wrist with three days of the upcoming epic “Alexander” still to shoot.

The Irish actor fell down a stairway after living it up at a party co-star Val Kilmer threw for the cast and crew in Thailand and passed out. He woke up in agony with broken bones, and Stone admits he came close to ruining the film’s ending.

“Colin came very close,” the director said. “He gambled. We made it. We got some fill-in shots.”

Despite the drunken mishap, Farrell was a delight to work with, Stone says: “Colin’s got something ancient in him and I’m really happy with what he’s doing.”

“Mummy” a daddy, Soledad a mommy

“The Mummy” star Brendan Fraser and his wife, Afton, have welcomed a new son, Holden Fletcher Fraser. The couple, married in 1998, had their first child, Griffin Arthur Fraser, in September 2002.

Meanwhile, “American Morning” anchor Soledad O’Brien went one better by giving birth to twin boys Charlie and Jackson on Monday. O’Brien, 37, and her husband, Brad Raymond, also have two daughters: Sofia, 4, and Cecilia, 2.

Guess good Will Hunting flunked marketing

In the wake of the media circus that surrounded his longtime buddy Ben Affleck‘s doomed romance with Jennifer Lopez, Matt Damon says he’ll only date “civilians,” not celebrities.

“Ben said to me that he knew it was the worst thing he could do for his career because of the amount of celebrity it was giving him,” Damon said. “Think about it. Why would anyone want to spend money to see you in a movie after seeing you all over the magazines?”
