Lewiston-Salt Lake air link approved

Associated Press

LEWISTON – Delta Air Lines has agreed to a one-year trial of roundtrip air service between Lewiston and Salt Lake City.

The agreement, expected to be reviewed by the Lewiston City Council on Monday, guarantees the airline a subsidy of as much as $3,500 per flight. The money would come from a federal Department of Transportation Small Community Air Service Development Grant.

Under the plan, Delta or a subsidiary would provide twice-daily roundtrip, nonstop flights between the cities.
