Valleyfest – Free community celebration for children and families will be Saturday at Mirabeau Park in Spokane Valley. To volunteer for this event, call Peggy at 922-3299 or e-mail pdoering@spokaneim.com.

AARP/Tax Aide Volunteers – Spokane Tax-Aide is looking for volunteers with backgrounds in communications, public relations and computer skills. Training is provided, and materials are free. Empowering Inc. – Volunteers are needed to help run children’s programs in the Spokane School District. Activities are experiential and include the arts, music and writing to teach teamwork, leadership and problem-solving. For information call Keith at 251-2328.

Friends of the Centennial Trail – Many volunteer opportunities are available to work in trail cleanup, trade show booths and in the office. TrailFest 2004 is Sunday at the Mirabeau trailhead from 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. For information, contact Kaye at 624-7188 or e-mail friends@spokanecentennialtrail.org.
