NEW FACES

Washington Trust Bank has recently hired Darryl Shaw as vice president and home loan center production manager. Shaw has more than 25 years of experience in banking and spent 14 of those specializing in mortgage lending.

Gina Day has recently been hired at the Wandermere branch of Washington Trust Bank as a mortgage loan representative. She has more than 17 years of experience in banking and mortgage lending.

Keller Williams Realty in Spokane has recently hired John Royer as a real estate agent. Royer was previously at Invest Real Estate.

Cassie Lewis has recently been hired at Keller Williams Realty in Spokane as a real estate agent. She was previously with Invest Real Estate.

D’Amato Conversano Inc. Engineers has recently hired Kevin Haiar as a structural project engineer. Haiar holds a master’s degree in civil engineering and was previously with Meier Enterprises in Kennewick.

Jeremy Stuart has recently been hired at D’Amato Conversano Inc. as a CAD designer in the company’s civil engineering division. Stuart holds an associate’s degree from ITT Technical Institute.

D’Amato Conversano Inc. Engineers has recently hired Henry Stamschror as a CAD designer in the company’s civil engineering division. Stamschror was previously with DMJM Technology in Richland and holds an associate’s degree from Yakima Valley Community College.

Moloney, O’Neill, Corkery & Jones has recently hired Jeff O’Neill as a sales executive in the commercial insurance division. O’Neill is a graduate of the University of Washington Business School and was previously a commercial underwriter at Unitrin.

Julie Anderson has recently been hired at the Post Falls office of Windermere Real Estate as a sales associate. Anderson was previously the co-owner and secretary at Shamrock Medical in Woodinville, Wash. and Post Falls.

The Post Falls office of Windermere Real Estate has recently hired Rhonda Covelli as a sales associate. Covelli was previously a research coordinator with Pulmonary Consultants in Coeur d’Alene and is also a registered nurse.

Stephanie Bernards has recently joined Hollister-Stier Laboratories as a quality control microbiologist. She received a bachelor’s degree in microbiology and a master’s in biology from Eastern Washington University and was previously with GenPrime Inc.

St. Luke’s Rehabilitation Institute has recently hired Dr. Robert K. Schwartz in the practice of physical medicine and rehabilitation. Schwartz is a 1986 graduate of Pennsylvania State University, completed his internship at York Hospital in 1987 and his residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in 1990. He has been recently accepted for membership in the Spokane County Medical Society.

Dr. Mathew A. Thompson has recently been hired at Grand Pediatrics as a pediatrician. Thompson is a 2000 graduate of the University of Washington and completed his internship and residency at Children’s Mercy Hospital in 2003. He has also recently been accepted for membership in the Spokane County Medical Society.

Advance Dermatology & Skin Surgery has recently hired Dr. Staci M. Ward, a dermatologist. Ward is a 1998 graduate of Baylor University and completed her internship and residency at Loma Linda University in 2000. She has also recently been accepted for membership in the Spokane County Medical Society.

Julie C. Ponti has recently been hired as a physician’s assistant at the Holy Family MS Center. Ponti is a 2000 graduate of the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine and has recently been accepted for membership in the Spokane County Medical Society.

Washington State University has recently hired three new Cougar Connectors. The Cougar Connectors are student ambassadors who are chosen for their ability to communicate with potential students during tours, visitation events and other recruitment activities. The new ambassadors are Cassandra Chase, Nicole McDonald and Megan Stout, all of whom are from Spokane.

Sonie Combs has recently been hired at the Post Falls office of Windermere Real Estate as a sales associate. Combs has several years of experience in real estate and mortgage lending and is licensed in California and in Idaho.

The Post Falls office of Windermere Real Estate has recently hired Lisa Kenner as a sales associate. Kenner was previously a secretary with Gold Key Real Estate.

Jeff Brown has recently been hired at the Manito office of Windermere Real Estate as a sales associate. Brown previously worked at Pac-West Telecomm in Ripon, Calif., and is new to real estate.

KUDOS

Wheatland Bank has recently celebrated its 25th anniversary. The bank opened in 1979 to serve the Lincoln County agricultural center and rural communities. It now has eight branches in four counties and about 70 employees.

PROMOTED

Terri Sorensen of Hollister-Stier Laboratories has recently been promoted to supervisor of microbiology, sterility and safety testing. Sorensen has been with the company since 1993 and has served as a quality control microbiologist.

Hollister-Stier has recently promoted Mandi Vaughn to the position of supervisor of the small volume parenteral filling department. She received her bachelor’s degree in biology from Western Washington University and her masters in molecular cell and developmental biology from the University of Texas in Austin. Vaughn has been with the company since 2002.

Heather Wilson has recently been promoted to the newly created position of supervisor of packaging at Hollister-Stier. Wilson has been with the company since 1994 and has worked as a supervisor of microbiology, sterility and safety testing. She holds a bachelor’s degree in biology/microbiology from Eastern Washington University.

ELECTED/APPOINTED

The Spokane Lilac Festival Association has elected its officers for 2004-2005. They are president, Catherine Tunstall of Wells Fargo; president elect Russ Brown, a retired educator; first vice president Sandy Brown, owner of Wandermere Golf Course; treasurer Susan Jones of Farmers & Merchants; and immediate past president Denise Vickerman of the Ramada Inn, Airport. The new vice presidents of the festival are: Toni Garman, a community volunteer; Michael Waldrip, a community volunteer; Arne Weinman of First Team Construction; Shirley Phipps, a community volunteer; Ed Neunherz of Global Credit Union; Pat Cadagan of Spokane Bakery Supply; and Cecelia Stephens a community volunteer.
