Obituaries will run in Classifieds exclusively

The Spokesman-Review

Beginning Monday, The Spokesman-Review will no longer publish duplicate obituary notices inside the INLife section. Classifieds obituaries, which have more information, are frequently written by loved ones and often include photographs, will continue to run in the Classifieds section Monday through Saturday and in the Region section on Sundays. The Classifieds package also will include a new death notices feature.

Elimination of the duplicated obituaries inside INLife will make room for an expanded Chronicle page that will include more achievement notices such as area high school honor rolls, dean’s lists, notices of graduation and promotions. In addition, we will be eliminating fees currently charged for wedding and anniversary announcements. The expanded Chronicle package, including free wedding, engagement and anniversary listings, will debut April 11.

To submit wedding, engagement and anniversary listings, contact Jennifer McNeish at 459-5400 or jennifermc@spokesman.com.

To submit achievements for the Chronicle page, contact Kamilah Boone at 459-5197 or kamilahb@spokesman.com.

To comment on the obituary changes, contact editorforum@spokesman.com or call editor Steven A. Smith at 459-5423 or managing editor Gary Graham at 459-5405
