Athletics 2, White Sox 1: At Oakland, Calif., Erubiel Durazo had three hits and scored the winning run on Marco Scutaro’s ninth-inning single in the Athletics’ win over Chicago.

Blue Jays 8, Devil Rays 2: At Toronto, rookie left-hander Gustavo Chacin (4-1) allowed just two runs and seven hits in 7 2/3 innings, as the Blue Jays beat Tampa Bay. Alex Rios tripled twice and drove in two runs for Toronto.

Angels 5, Yankees 1: At New York, Steve Finley and Garret Anderson homered off struggling Mike Mussina (1-2), and Los Angeles limited Alex Rodriguez (10 RBIs on Tuesday) to a solo home in a victory at Yankee Stadium.

Tigers 10, Indians 3: At Cleveland, Craig Monroe hit a two-run homer to highlight a six-run third and Jeremy Bonderman (3-2) pitched eight effective innings as Detroit cruised past Jake Westbrook (0-5) and the Indians.

Twins 9, Royals 4: At Kansas City, Mo., Joe Mays pitched six solid innings for his first win since undergoing Tommy John surgery in 2003 and Jason Bartlett drove in three runs, leading Minnesota to a victory over Kansas City.

Orioles vs. Red Sox, ppd.: The game between visiting Baltimore and Boston was postponed by rain. No makeup date was announced.

National League

Pirates 2, Astros 0: At Pittsburgh, Kip Wells allowed four hits over seven innings and Jose Mesa earned his 300th career save as the Pirates won their first series of the season by handing Houston its fifth straight loss.

Cardinals 6, Brewers 3: At St. Louis, Mark Grudzielanek hit for the cycle in his first four at-bats and Chris Carpenter (4-1) equaled his career best with 12 strikeouts, helping the Cardinals beat Milwaukee.

Braves 8, Mets 4: At New York, Andruw Jones broke out of a big slump with a homer and three hits, and Mike Hampton (3-0) stayed unbeaten with another solid outing to lead Atlanta over Tom Glavine (1-3) and the Mets.

Cubs 8, Reds 7: At Chicago, Derrek Lee had two home runs and six RBIs, and Corey Patterson hit a one-out homer in the ninth to give the Cubs a win over Cincinnati.

Phillies 3, Nationals 0: At Washington, Jimmy Rollins broke a scoreless tie in the ninth with a leadoff homer, and Brett Myers pitched seven scoreless innings to lead Philadelphia over the Nationals.

Giants 10, Padres 3: At San Francisco, Kirk Rueter (1-2) got his first win of the year and Pedro Feliz hit a three-run homer on his 30th birthday as the Giants hammered Tim Redding (0-4) and San Diego.

Diamondbacks 6, Dodgers 3: At Los Angeles, Luis Gonzalez hit a tiebreaking two-run single in a three-run seventh to help Arizona beat Los Angeles and move past the Dodgers into first place in the N.L. West.

Marlins vs. Rockies, ppd.: At Denver, the game between Colorado and Florida was postponed by rain and snow. It will be made up as part of a doubleheader today.
