Sounds like ”Idol” Bo Bice has a vice and a voice

“American Idol” finalist Bo Bice was arrested twice in the past four years on drug charges, but Fox TV is standing by the long-haired rocker.

Thesmokinggun.com, citing court documents, said Bice, 29, of Helena, Ala., was arrested in 2001 on a felony cocaine possession charge.

That charge, as well as a marijuana possession charge stemming from a 2003 arrest, were both dismissed after he completed a program for first-time offenders.

His participation in “Idol” will be unaffected, Fox said in response.

“From the beginning, Bo was honest and forthcoming in revealing his previous indiscretions and their outcome,” the network said.

Several past “Idol” contestants were booted for failing to disclose arrests, but those who have been forthcoming haven’t been penalized.

Scott Savol, who with Bice is among the top five finalists, revealed he had been arrested on a domestic violence charge and pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor.

Sort of lip-synch or swim

MTV has recruited spikey-haired singer Ryan Cabrera to host “Score,” a new reality dating show.

Unlike his ex-girlfriend’s “The Ashlee Simpson Show,” Cabrera’s show won’t focus on his personal life.

In “Score,” which will debut this fall, Cabrera, his band and some celebrity guest stars will mentor two lovelorn songwriters, who will be asked to write a tune in one day. Sight unseen, the object of their affection will choose the crooner with the best serenade for a date.

Will Nick end up on the rebound?

“Newlyweds” MTV stars Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson, whose relationship has been rumored to be on the rocks, apparently are planning to be together for at least two more years.

The singing celebrities have purchased a pricey condo unit at the Palms Place in Las Vegas, which will be completed in 2007.

There will be “a two-story basketball suite which is down the hall from a multimillion dollar state of the art recording studio there … so I’m there,” enthuses Lachey.

Still, kicking drugs was the hard part

Jack Osbourne, the bespectacled son of Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne, trained for almost four weeks before entering the ring on Wednesday against a veteran Thai kickboxer.

The result: a second-round knockout win for the 19-year-old, who stars with his parents and sister Kelly on the MTV reality show “The Osbournes.”

Jack Osbourne, who completed a drug rehab program in 2003, went through a training regimen that included “a complete physical detox, which was basically twice-daily massive colonic irrigations to kind of flush himself out of toxins,” a traveling companion said.

A new chapter for Bobby?

Bobby Brown‘s old group, New Edition, says it would welcome back the troubled R&B singer.

“No matter what, we love that brother,” says band member Ricky Bell. “The door is open for him.”

Brown, known for his drug and alcohol arrests and sometimes stormy marriage to the equally troubled Whitney Houston, will be the subject of a new eight-episode reality TV show, “Being Bobby Brown.” It debuts on the Bravo network June 30.
