Art auction will benefit family service

The Northwest Child Development Center is hosting a free art show and silent auction titled “The Colors of Summer” to raise awareness about the importance of arts in early childhood education.

The NCDC is a program through Support for Parents Overcoming Challenges, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing services to low-income families.

Artwork by children ranging from 6 months to 5 years of age will be on display from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Northeast Community Center, 4001 N. Cook St., and will be available for silent bidding.

All proceeds from Saturday’s event will benefit Support for Parents Overcoming Challenges and its programs.
