Grigsby on to quarters at Junior Boys Amateur

Nicholas Grigsby of Spokane Valley advanced to the quarterfinals with a pair of victories at the 51st PNGA Junior Boys’ Amateur Championship at Homestead Farms Golf Resort at Lynden, Wash.

Grigsby needed 17 holes to beat Reid Martin of Mukilteo, Wash., 2-up in the round of 32 before beating Seon Kim of Surrey, B.C., 5 and 4 in the round of 16.

Joel Dahmen of Clarkston, Wash., and Dustin Poe and Sean Bulger of Spokane, all lost in the round of 16.

The quarterfinals and semifinals will be played today.

•Corbin Kembel won the overall championship at the Junior Lilac Invitational tournament at The Fairways Golf Course with a two-round score of 149.
