Small fire doused quickly after kids’ 911 call

Firefighters in Mead quickly suppressed a fire under a manufactured house on the 12000 block of North Chronicle Street Wednesday.

Three minors noticed smoke coming out from under the home and called 911, said Capt. Dan Walsh of Fire District No. 9. The owner was not at home at the time, he said.

No one was hurt in the fire, he said, and the extent of damage was not immediately known.

Several fire vehicles were dispatched about 2:30 p.m. and the fire was out before 3 p.m.
