Authorities are looking for a 29-year-old Coeur d’Alene man on a warrant for aggravated battery, strangulation, aggravated assault and possible kidnapping following a brawl with his girlfriend in the Beauty Creek area Wednesday afternoon.

Amy K. Timmins, 33, of Post Falls, secretly dialed 911 Wednesday while she was riding in a pickup truck driven by William Todd Sizemore, who she claimed had beaten her and attempted to strangle her, according to the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office.

“As they drove down Beauty Creek Road, she’s talking, ‘Why are you strangling me? Why are you beating me?’ Because of the mountains they lose the signal, so 911 dials it back,” said Sheriff’s Capt. Ben Wolfinger.

Timmins pretended it was her friend “Sarah” and began telling dispatch their location. Sizemore soon realized she was talking to 911, according to a sheriff’s report.

Sizemore pulled over the pickup on Yellowstone Trail Road near the intersection of Wolf Lodge Road, and Timmins jumped out, with Sizemore coming after her, cursing and accusing her of calling 911, according to the report.

When they heard the sirens, Sizemore fled west on Yellowstone Trail, and then up steep woody terrain once deputies arrived, according to the sheriff’s office.

Sheriff’s deputies arrived and found Timmins shaking, in tears with red marks and a puncture wound on her neck, the report said.

Deputies and tracking dogs searched for Sizemore until about 8 p.m. when it became dark but did not locate him, Wolfinger said.

“Once we confirmed that he wasn’t armed last night, that takes a lot of stress level off that he has to be found right away,” Wolfinger said.

Deputies did recover a knife in the pickup, as well as a shotgun and a large knife at the couple’s campsite in the Beauty Creek drainage.

Timmins told officers that the abuse began the night before when she had a few drinks, was being “goofy” and annoyed Sizemore, who allegedly strangled her, threatened to kill her and hit her in the back of the head with his shotgun.

Timmins started to drive away in her pickup truck, she told deputies, but was afraid of being arrested for DUI, so she stayed at camp. The next day, the abuse continued after she lunged at Sizemore in anger, according to the report.

Sizemore is 5 feet 10 inches tall and approximately 170 pounds. He has dark brown hair, hazel eyes, a full beard and was last seen wearing tan shorts and a white T-shirt.

The sheriff’s office is asking that anyone with information on Sizemore’s whereabouts to call 446-1300.
