Redick lifts No. 1 Duke over Indiana

J.J. Redick scored 29 points and Shelden Williams added 13 before fouling out as No. 1 Duke held off No. 17 Indiana 75-67 at Bloomington, Ind., in the ACC-Big Ten Challenge on Wednesday night.

Duke (6-0) is 7-0 in the event but had to withstand an outstanding performance by Marco Killingsworth to remain perfect. Greg Paulus had 13 points for the Blue Devils.

Killingsworth had a career-high 34 points and 10 rebounds for the Hoosiers (3-1) and dominated the middle after getting the Blue Devils’ two top interior players – Williams and Josh McRoberts – into foul trouble early in the second half.

(4) Villanova 86, Rider 57: At Trenton, N.J., Allan Ray scored 21 points and Kyle Lowry added a career-high 20 as the Wildcats (3-0) cruised to a victory over the Broncs (1-3).

(5) Oklahoma 62, Tulsa 53: At Tulsa, Okla., Terrell Everett scored a career-high 26 points, including three late free throws, to help the Sooners (4-0) stave off a late rally in a win against the Golden Hurricane (1-3).

(9) Memphis 97, Jackson St. 70: At Memphis, Tenn., Rodney Carney scored 25 points and matched his career-high with six 3-pointers, to lead the Memphis (5-1) past Jackson State (1-4).

(13) Michigan St. 88, Georgia Tech 86: At East Lansing, Mich., the Spartans’ Paul Davis scored 22 points, and Zam Fredrick of the Yellow Jackets (2-2) hit the rim on a shot from about 30 feet as time expired, giving Michigan State (4-2) a victory in the ACC-Big Ten Challenge.

(14) Iowa 45, (24) N.C. State 42: At Iowa City, Iowa, Adam Haluska scored 18 points and the Hawkeyes (5-1)held on for a victory over the Wolfpack (5-1) in the final game of the ACC-Big Ten Challenge.

(19) George Washington 85, St. Francis, Pa. 68: At Washington, J.R. Pinnock scored 20 points for the George Washington, helping the Colonials (3-0) overcome a poor first half to beat the Red Flash (2-4).

(23) Maryland 83, Minnesota 66: At College Park, Md., Travis Garrison had 18 points and 10 rebounds, and the Terrapins (5-1) overwhelmed the injury-riddled Gophers (2-2) in the second half en route to a victory in the ACC-Big Ten Challenge.
