Jackie Waite says she got a deal when she married her husband Jamie.

“He has an ability to visualize what he wants and build it,” Jackie says.

His visions have included a new bedroom with floor-to-ceiling windows, a vanity, a bar and pillars surrounding the front door.

Jamie’s handiwork even distracted police officers when the Waite home was broken into a few years ago.

“After the police came and took their report, they didn’t want to leave until they could have a tour because they were so impressed with his work,” Jackie says.

While the outside is nice, Jamie, a freight broker by day, has done his most creative work inside the home, which he bought in 1978.

“Inside the house, as you come up the stairs, there used to be a closet, but now it’s a working phone booth with a little Superman shirt hanging in there,” Jackie says.

She admits that her part in the remodeling has been minimal.

“Jamie does everything,” she says. “I just make him lunch.”
