Car crash kills Worley woman

A Worley, Idaho, woman was killed Sunday morning when her vehicle went off the road near Rockford and rolled, the Washington State Patrol said in a news release.

Andy L. Wilson, 43, was southbound on state Route 27 about 5 a.m. While rounding a slight curve to the right a mile north of Rockford, she drove onto the right shoulder, overcorrected, and hit a telephone pole, rolling her vehicle, the WSP said.

Two men survive mountain plane crash

Two men survived a plane crash into a mountain Sunday afternoon in Boundary County.

Pilot Jacob Bushnell of Porthill, Idaho, and passenger Scott Miller crashed a light Cessna aircraft near Burton Peak in the Myrtle Creek drainage just before 2 p.m. They were rescued after Bushnell called 911 on his cellular telephone.

Miller suffered a broken arm and possible head injuries in the crash, according to Boundary County Sheriff Greg Sprungl. Both men were flown to Kootenai Medical Center around 6 p.m. on Sunday.

Clover Fire grows to 156 square miles

Boise A grass and brush fire 30 miles south of Hammett was threatening several ranch homes Sunday and had grown to 156 square miles, according to the National Interagency Fire Center in Boise.

About 200 firefighters working on the Clover Fire hoped to have the blaze contained by Sunday evening, officials said.

The lightning-caused blaze started Friday night and had spread to more than 109 square miles by Saturday, fanned by winds of up to 35 mph.
