What do you think Potter, other characters look like?

The Spokesman-Review

Harry Potter is back, and he’s still fighting the good wizardly fight. But his sense of goodness isn’t all that makes him popular. Like all good characters from children’s literature, Harry has a sense of self that simply jumps off the page. It’s visual.

And that got us to thinking. Do you have your own image of what Harry looks like? Of Hermione Granger or Ron Weasley? Of Headmaster Dumbledore or Profs. Snape and McGonagall? Of “He Who Must Not Be Named”?

If so, work up a picture of any or all of them, then add no more than half a typed page describing the scene that you’ve captured, and send to: Harry Potter Contest, The Spokesman-Review, 999 W. Riverside Ave., Spokane, WA 99201.

We’ll judge the entries in three different age categories: ages 5 (or below) to 8, 9 to 11 and 12 to 15. Winners, whose work will run in the July 31 IN Life section, will earn $20 gift certificates at their favorite bookstore.

Entry deadline is Monday. For further information, call 459-5483.
