Cougar, Huskies earn All-Pac-10

Washington State Cougars senior catcher Brady Everett was named to the All-Pac-10 first team on Tuesday.

Everett batted .337 and led the team with 15 home runs, 62 runs batted in, 50 runs scored and a .606 slugging percentage.

Washington Huskies junior shortstop Brent Lillibridge and sophomore pitcher Tim Lincecum were also named to the first team.

WSU junior outfielder Jay Miller, sophomore infielder Jeff Miller and senior pitcher Dane Renkert received honorable mention.

“Lewis-Clark State outfielder Joey Dyche became the first player in Avista NAIA World Series history to hit for the cycle, as the Warriors defeated Spalding (Ky.) 14-3 in a loser-out game at Harris Field in Lewiston.

Ryan Stevenson also had four hits for the Warriors (46-8), who pounded the Pelicans (54-23) for 18 in the game. The Warriors will play defending World Series champion Cumberland (Tenn.) today at Harris Field.

“ Gonzaga University senior Jeff Culpepper, drafted in the 24th round of last year’s draft, signed with the Chicago Cubs over the weekend.

Culpepper, second on the Zags’ all-time hit list with 265, will report Thursday to Mesa, Ariz., and will play this summer for Boise of the Northwest League.

Indians tickets go on sale

Individual game tickets for the Spokane Indians will go on sale today at 9 a.m. at Avista Stadium. They can also be purchased at all TicketsWest locations or by phone at 535-2922.

Rowing

The Gonzaga Bulldogs men’s crew has landed two boats in the Intercollegiate Rowing Association National Championships in Camden, N.J.

The varsity 4 and freshman 4 boats will hit the water Thursday morning.
