Free summer meals available to all children
Students who depend on free and subsidized meals at school will have plenty of places to get something to eat when the school year ends.
Spokane Public Schools and other community partners are offering free meals to students through the Summer Meals Program. The federally funded child-nutrition program was created to ensure that children in low-income areas can receive nutritious meals during long school vacations.
The program is available to all children 18 years and younger. Children may come all or any days they wish.
Parents are encouraged to accompany their children. Parents may bring their own meals but cannot eat any of their child’s meal.
Meals must be eaten at the site and be finished within 15 minutes of the final serving time. No meals will be served July 1 and 4, due to the holiday.
