Timberwolves claim twinbill from Bears
Cory Kreighbaum allowed two singles over five innings and collected three hits Friday as Lake City defeated host Moscow 22-1 to complete an Inland Empire League baseball sweep.
Alex Capaul went the distance in the first game, overcoming a four-run first inning and benefiting from a 10-run seventh as the Timberwolves (7-1, 3-0) won 11-6.
Kreighbaum had two of LC’s four doubles in the second game. LC’s Brady Capaul had five hits on the day.
The Bears dropped to 0-3, 0-3.
Also in the IEL, Coeur d’Alene (7-1, 2-0) scored eight runs in the sixth to post an 11-9 win at Sandpoint (2-5, 2-4). Andy Seaman earned the win, but the Bulldogs nearly pulled off a rally with a six-run seventh.
