Feature creature

This adorable dog is up for adoption at SCRAPS in the Spokane Valley. This week's cute little guy is Odie. He's a basset hound mix and about a year old.

Odie’s mournful howl let visitors at the Spokane County Regional Animal Protection Service shelter know that he wasn’t happy in his cage. But once out of the enclosure he transformed into a friendly, wagging dog who liked to chew on toys. Odie’s previous owner dropped him off March 28 because she’s moving into a studio apartment. She said Odie is easygoing, but needs work on his potty training and likes to chew on things.

Anyone interested in adopting Odie or other animals can visit the SCRAPS shelter at 2521 N. Flora Road, call the shelter at 477-2532 or visit the Web site at www.spokanecounty.org/animal. Dogs cost $75.01 to adopt, which includes a license, neutering, vaccinations, a microchip implant and a trip to the veterinarian.
